In 1995 a derelict and overgrown garden behind 112 Fore Street (then part of Kingsbridge Community College) was identified as a possible site for a community garden for Kingsbridge.
Jill Davies, project developer at the school, envisaged an organic herb and vegetable garden here. Work began in 1998, when Kingsbridge Rotary Club president Brian McDonald, who was also senior lecturer at Dartmouth Naval College, had the idea of enlisting Naval Cadets in the initial clearance work.Â

The garden has been recognised repeatedly by RHS Britain in Bloom awards.
Work continues to maintain and improving the garden, we welcome new volunteers to join us!
